Someday he’ll be famous… Rodrick Rules
What I find so amusing about this whole thing, is the books are truly simple diaries. Not all too pleased with everything they say…but I cannot shelter her forever and the occasional bad talk is less than what she hears on TV anyway.
My daughter has read these books. I buy them for her one by one, as she finishes one she gets the next. She enjoys them, I see them as a social learning tool for her. A young kid, being made fun of and putting up with the aggrevations of middle school, has set himself apart and become a huge success. Sometimes the opportunities are truly right in front of us. My daughter has social issues at school. She’s seeing this year for the first time, a variety of cultural and social classes at school. She’s a husky little 3rd grader, and she feels the brunt of that everyday. My heart sometimes bleeds for her. She and I have both had a lesson in toughening up this year. If this book and movie show her that she’s not alone in those school kid terror attempts, then mission accomplished!
I’m actually looking forward to our movie day.
