Crockpot Pulled Pork Sandwiches–YUMMY!

I cooked this last week for the first time. It was great. This is an easy crock pot recipe, I enjoyed it more because I wasn’t slaving over the bbq pit for hours.

Pork Roast (your choice of size and cut, just make sure it fits in your crockpot) I used boneless shoulder roast.

Cut 1 onion in wedges and place in crockpot
whole fresh garlic cloves ( I used 5 or 6). Add them to onion wedges
Rub the pork roast with your favorite bbq seasoning/meat rub. I used one from my local meat market, called good grub. Rub as much as you like all over the roast

Place Roast on top of onions and garlic.
add enough water to have a level 1/2 over the roast.
If you like add a little “liquid smoke”….I didn’t use this (being from TX we don’t “liquid smoke!”)

Cover crock pot and cook 7-9 hours. ( There’s no real rush here, mine was in crockpot almost 10 hours-it won’t burn)
Remove from crock pot, disregard onions, garlic and juickes.

Shred pork and return to pot.

Add bbq sauce of your liking ( I used KC masterpiece, smoky bourbon)
Mix bbq sauce and shredded pork until desired moisture mix.

Serve on warm buns.

Delicious!! and my kids loved it!

*note: this made an awful lot. we had leftovers the next day and froze some for later use!*

About tweenspot

I am like so many moms raising young girls, scared I'm doing the right thing and learning with pure amazement at the same time! I feel like I have become my mother (don't we all)..my favorite phrase is "today things are so different than when I/we grew up". The absolute hysteria in that phrase scares me too. I don't want to be scared. I like to think that as a professional, working, college educated women that I can embrace the world we live in. That's why I have been researching Tweens, what they like, do, what's hot and what's trends are going to cost me a fortune in the future! My little girls are the love of my life. By creating this blog, I want a safe internet place for girls and moms to share. This blog is in the infancy stage, but I have big plans for it. So stay tuned.... Read, enjoy, comment. Visit as often as you'd like. I hope together we can build a community for girls and moms to explore, learn and share with one another.

share your thoughts!
